The new building’s mass is organized into three simple, horizontal bands resting on top of a concrete parking structure. The first band comprised of restaurant and retail connects to the street with large glass windows and pedestrian friendly sidewalks. The second two story band contains the new headquarters of a local community law firm. Rendered as a carved brick solid with glass window accents, the design symbolizes the company’s clean, unassuming reputation. The interiors provide healthy, attractive office spaces, connecting staff to each other and to the landscape with special attention to flexibility, environmental workplace quality, and environmental conservation. The third band contains residential units with open balconies allowing an uninterrupted visual connection to the surrounding tree canopy and historic buildings.
