  • all hands on deck - east marietta library nears completion

    As early as November, Cobb County residents will enjoy their new state of the art library. And if that was not enough, they can also enjoy theatrical productions at the new black box theater, catch a movie in the amphitheater, browse art in the new gallery space or take classes on jewelry making, pottery and drawing.

  • the barnesville library breaks ground

    The Flint River Regional Library broke ground on the renovation and expansion of the Barnesville-Lamar County Library. The project consists of a 9,000 sf renovation with a 4,000 sf addition. The library will provide larger children’s and staff work areas, handicapped accessibility, and a multi-purpose room that will serve the community now and in the future.  The design focuses on being environmentally friendly and energy efficient while being easy for the end user to maintain.  The library is partially funded by a $1.38 million State of Georgia Capital Outlay Grant.

  • hogansville opens new library

    CAS Architecture | December 13, 2016

    Hogansville unveiled its new library to a packed house of local officials and patrons on Tuesday. The new 11,200 square foot state of the art library replaces the original library on main street that had become too small to meet the community’s needs. The library is equipped with modern amenities like self-checkout, RFID security, a 3D printer, multiple computer stations, quiet study rooms, a dedicated teen area, a spacious children’s area and a community room that will also function as council chambers for the city.

  • columbarium dedicated

    CAS Architecture | January 24, 2016

    On a brisk Sunday morning, family and friends gathered to dedicate the new columbarium at Snellville United Methodist. As pastor Jim led a short service, the peaceful sound of the recently completed granite fountain echoed within the protected exterior courtyard. The inviting new space will offer family and friends a place to visit and reflect on the memories of their loved ones.

  • cas wins east marietta library commission

    CAS Architecture | November 19, 2015

    We are pleased to announce CAS will be designing the new East Marietta Library and Community Center for Cobb County. The new 30,000 square foot facility located at the existing site of the East Marietta Library will combine both a state of the art library with a black box theatre, gallery space, classrooms for art classes and a large lecture hall. The library is partially funded by a $1.0 million State of Georgia Capital Outlay Grant. Stay tuned for design updates.

  • hogansville library breaks ground

    CAS Architecture | October 27, 2015

    Located within the historic city downtown, the new 11,000 square foot Hogansville Library design draws inspiration from the surrounding historic homes and agrarian barns. Large overhangs serve dual purposes by providing shaded daylight to the interior spaces as well as offering exterior “front porches” for patrons to relax and enjoy views of the park.

    We are pleased to announce our new office location on the historic square in Lawrenceville. The existing storefront was originally built in 1914, 100 years ago. We will renovate the interior space exposing the beautiful brick walls, refinishing the old wood floors and exposing the wood trusses in the ceiling. Our daily view will be of the historic Gwinnett Courthouse built in 1885. Read more >

     

  • old bell rings for first time since 1957

    Mr. Emmett Clower, former student at the Old Snellville School, rings the old bell for the first time since 1957. The new tower supports the original bell from the old Snellville School. The tower is located near its original location which is now on the campus of Snellville United Methodist Church.  The original school taught students from 1922 to 1957 until South Gwinnett High School opened.   • event pavilion taking shape at yonah mountain vineyards

    The new event facility for Yonah Mountain Vineyards has broken ground and is under construction. Slated to be opened in 2015, the facility will offer event options for weddings, corporate and private parties.
